Premier Tree Care and Conservation Ltd Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement

Premier Tree Care and Conservation Ltd is committed to preventing slavery and human trafficking in its business activities and to ensuring that its supply chains are free from slavery and human trafficking.

This statement is made pursuant to section 54 of the Modern Slavery Act 2015 and sets out the steps that Premier Tree Care and Conservation Ltd has taken and is continuing to take to ensure that modern slavery or human trafficking is not taking place within our business or supply chain.

As a company operating in the arboricultural industry with an annual turnover exceeding £36 million, we recognise our responsibility to take a robust approach to slavery and human trafficking. We are committed to acting ethically and with integrity and transparency in all our business dealings and to putting effective systems and controls in place to safeguard against any form of modern slavery taking place within the business or our supply chain.

Our policies on slavery and human trafficking:

We operate a number of internal policies to ensure that we are conducting business in an ethical and transparent manner. These include:

  1. Recruitment policy: We conduct robust checks on all employees to safeguard against human trafficking or individuals being forced to work against their will.
  2. Whistleblowing policy: We encourage all employees to report any concerns related to the direct activities, or the supply chains of, the organisation. This includes any circumstances that may give rise to an enhanced risk of slavery or human trafficking.
  3. Supplier code of conduct: We are committed to ensuring that our suppliers adhere to the highest standards of ethics. Suppliers are required to demonstrate that they provide safe working conditions, treat workers with dignity and respect, and act ethically and within the law in their use of labour.

Our supply chains:

We have conducted a risk assessment of our supply chain and identified areas that could be at higher risk of modern slavery or human trafficking. We work closely with our suppliers to ensure that they meet our standards and are committed to combating modern slavery and human trafficking.

Due diligence processes:

As part of our efforts to monitor and reduce the risk of slavery and human trafficking occurring within our supply chains, we have adopted the following due diligence procedures:

  1. Mapping the supply chain broadly to assess particular product or geographical risks of modern slavery and human trafficking.
  2. Evaluating the modern slavery and human trafficking risks of each new supplier.
  3. Conducting supplier audits or assessments which have a greater degree of focus on slavery and human trafficking where general risks are identified.

Training:

We provide training to our staff to ensure a high level of understanding of the risks of modern slavery and human trafficking in our supply chains and our business.

Our performance indicators:

We use the following key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure how effective we have been to ensure that slavery and human trafficking is not taking place in any part of our business or supply chains:

  1. Completion of audits of suppliers;
  2. Use of labour monitoring and payroll systems;
  3. Level of communication and personal contact with next link in the supply chain and their understanding of, and compliance with, our expectations.

This statement is made in accordance with section 54(1) of the Modern Slavery Act 2015 and constitutes Premier Tree Care and Conservation Ltd’s slavery and human trafficking statement for the financial year ending 2024.
